  Sex & the Single Savior

1 Cor 12 and Christian Marriage
Both the gospels and Paul favor celibacy over sex, and the single life over marriage. Was this only because they thought the world would end, or were there inherent "problems" they saw in gender roles and sexual relations that they thought were overcome somehow by Jesus?

In today's reading, queer biblical scholar Dale Martin will explore the New Testament texts to challenge the common contemporary view that Christianity is and always has been pro-marriage.
