Introduction

Exegesis refers to the critical study of a text, in our case the Bible.  "Critical study" can be done in a multitude of ways, depending on the types of questions one wants to ask.  These various ways of approaching a text are referred to as exegetical or critical methods.  A list of some of these methods follows.  The links provide full descriptions of the methods, guidelines for using them, and bibliographies.
