Introduction

The central command to love God in Deuteronomy 6:5 is to do so with all one’s heart, soul and strength.  "Strength" is consistently interpreted in Palestinian Jewish and Christian tradition as "money."  What would it mean to love God with all your money?  What does it mean when it is spelled out by the prophets, the sages, John the Baptist, Jesus?
